Today’s Fake News is Tomorrow’s Fake History

Media Censorship, Corporate Propaganda, and the Making of the Current Climate Crisis

From environmental racism and impending ecological collapse to the regulatory capture and corporate/government collusion that helped bring us to this brink, media censorship of climate related issues, and their impact on we the people, have contributed to a growing global crisis. Stories from communities around the world, from the scientific to the everyday, regarding the extent of effects of climate change have been systematically ignored, distorted, and downplayed by corporate and establishment press. We need accurate reporting on these issues to be better prepared to address the current challenges. Project Censored has been covering underreported stories since 1976, and climate change has been an unfortunately recurring theme in our annual publications. We’ll share some of these, analyzing false equivalencies and and outright falsehoods in climate reporting, while highlighting the most significant independent ones, including on environmental justice.
