US Imperialism, Syria, Palestine, and Yemen

Trump’s hawkish approach to US foreign policy has led to a growing awareness and discussion of US imperialism. This panel will bring together local activists to trace the dynamics of US imperialism since the end of the Cold War and look at what this means for Syria and Palestine today. The region of North Africa and West Asia remains the focal point of US imperialism where the Arab Spring uprisings and myriad military interventions continue to shape the region.

How do we as activists understand what imperialism is, what anti-imperialism is, and what it means in the current moment and context of world order? These questions are directly linked to the need for an anti-war movement in this country.
